Example 4: Use Manual Sync and Auto Sync

Suppose you have the following files added to the session, which were transferred previously. Double clicking on an item here you can open it in an editor of your choice. (See Program Options to learn more on how to use an editor).

Then, suppose you have modified the .htm files in the editor. The moment you save those modifications in the editor, TextMaestro will recognize the modification and change the file icons to report it, as shown below.

 

At this stage files marked with icon are considered 'dirty' in the sense that they have been modified since last FTP.

Click on Manual sync to remote button (marked by red square) to transfer the 'locally dirty' files to the corresponding remote areas. FTP will follow and if each transfer goes alright, 'dirty' icons will disappear, as shown here.

 

Alternatively, keep Auto-sync button (marked by red square) pressed. Then 'locally dirty' files will be automatically transferred to their remote areas. That is to say, you do not need to do anything; each time a 'locally dirty' file is detected, TextMaestro will FTP it for you.

One important point here is that you need to have the following two items checked under Program Options: Auto-update icons for modified files.
