5. File Attributes

Select on a file item from session list. Click on File Attributes button (Ctrl+Q) from FTP toolbar shown in red below:

Then the following dialog will appear where File Attributes are displayed.

Comment 1: Each item in the file-list, also known as file-item, has five attributes:

  • Hostname

  • Username

  • Password

  • Remote Directory

  • Local Directory

Above dialog box displays the five attributes of a file-item. These attributes determine FROM and TO for each file transfer. You can change any of these attributes. But it is your responsibility to make sure the specification you provide is correct.

Select a file. Click on File Attributes button. The above dialog box will appear. Close the dialog by clicking on OK (with or without any changes.) Now the Default Session Attributes will become the recently viewed file attributes. Thereby, if you add a file to the session now, it will possess the same file attributes as the Default Session Attributes, which is the same as that of the last selected file.

Comment 2: Using Browse (...) button you can browse remote or local file system and obtain the right locations. Alternatively, you can simply provide the remote and (or) local locales of the file by hand-editing.

Comment 3: Change password of the host of a file. The change will propagate to all other files which are mapped to the same host through a common repository of hosts.
